Camp Kindling exists to disciple God's children of all generations through community and creativity. Years ago, Tony and Lauren Wagoner met through a mission's trip to Guatemala. Working with the Guatemalan summer camp team, a fire was ignited in both of them to share the hope of Jesus with people outside of a church building. They and their five children spent years pastoring, teaching and using the creative arts as a tool to teach others the beauty of taking love into every space you go in the world. In the fall of 2016 God began speaking to Tony and Lauren about stepping away from serving as pastors... He planted in them a dream of people find joy, comfort, inspiration on land. Where all ages could be inspired together to walk in their creativity, after His image.
In 2023 the Wagoners started camp classes through the Glow Mission... the camp grew and grew and our team knew God was moving and doing something incredible with the people of our community. In 2025, Tony and Lauren stepped out in faith and launched the nonprofit Maker & Kin, opening the doors to CAMP KINDLING!
Camp Kindling has been a space that has impacted thousands of people over the years. This 33 acres began as a Girl Scout camp in the 1940s and has grown into a missional community where families, churches and ministries come from all over to experience the love of God. For generations this land on Camp Julia Road has been a light to the community being stewarded by so many beautiful people.
Maker & Kin
Maker & Kin launched August of 2025 with the heartbeat to walk through life as followers and friends of Christ through DISCIPLESHIP, COMMUNITY, and CREATIVITY.
We believe we were made to grow together, do life in rich friendship, and step into creative processes throughout our lives. Camp Kindling is just one of many ways that God has called us to step into this adventure with Him.

Tony and Lauren Wagoner are two people who love Jesus heart and soul and long to see His name spread to every corner of the world. They are parents to 5 kiddos who really love and value family. They would love nothing more than to see families on mission together, with revival starting in the home. God took their past years of pastoring, teaching and photography and combined them together to form their joy of discipling in creative ways. Tony is a spur of the minute adventure seeker, ready to chase his kiddos around the beach or dive into the next good book. You will most likely find Lauren either dancing big with her family in worship or having long morning snuggles. They love long talks around the family table and hearing the stories of anyone willing to pass them on. Their children never hesitate to give giant hugs and sing loudly around the campfire. We hope you will come sit around our family table with us soon!
MARTHA PELL
ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTOR
Martha is a gift to the land and everyone who steps on it. She is a gifted teacher who ministers to children with patience and love. She keeps us all organized and on track with the day to day tasks of Maker & Kin and Camp Kindling, while using her gift of hospitality to make camp full of warmth. Some days you may find her with a watercolor brush in hand or posting new plants and animals to her National Geographic app. Every day you spend with Martha marks you with intentionality. She sees and ministers tenderly to all people she comes in contact with.
Camp Creatives
Our amazing camp class teachers are such a big part of what we do with our Camp Glow classes. These creatives from different communities use their giftings to inspire our younger generations of learners... and they do it with excitement every week. Painters, photographers, potters, science teachers, journalists, writers, theater teachers... so many brilliant minds come together every semester. We are thankful for all they bring to the land and our community.
